What is the difference between a Desktop Computer VS a Personal Computer?

Is a Desktop Computer the same as opposed to a Personal Computer? I know a Personal Computer is abbreviated as "PC" but what about a typical Desktop Computer? Does it mean the same thing at all??What is the difference between a Desktop Computer VS a Personal Computer?
Yes it is the same...the only thing different is a desktop sits on the desk or floor or anywhere whereas a laptop is portable! they r exactly the same but they called the PC a Desktop coz its not portable so they can make a difference between it and a laptop :)
