What is the difference between computer science and computer programming?

Somebody please explain this in terms I can understand.



I want to do something in computers when I grow up. I like programming but would like to know more.

Programming is just writing software or assignments for the computer to perform.





Computer Science is more related to the inside of Computers, like Harddrives, Ram, CPU, etc.

Though it is really helpful for computer scientists to know programming as well.



So they do somewhat overlap.

But one thing, it that being a computer scientist itself is a bit more stable occupation than being a sole programmer, as being only a programmer can get outsourced.What is the difference between computer science and computer programming?
They are very similar, but computer science gets into the mathematics behind computer programming. Computer programming is concerned with producing a result application that does something, whereas computer science is concerned with the best way to program.
