Computer ???????????????????

What is the best operating systemComputer ???????????????????
The one that meets your application needs (-:
Its all about personal preference.

If you want an os that will hit the ground running, and is just for internet/graphic stuff. Get OSX.

If you want an os "without walls" as microsoft puts it, that allows you to do more advanced tasks with your computers, and has a larger variety of compatible software, get windows. I like vista, many prefer xp

Now i don't know a whole lot about linux, but i'm pretty sure its targeted towards more programmers, cause of it being open source. So not sure if your into that.Computer ???????????????????
Use Windows Vista. I know there are millions of people who say it is crap, but I say, after you get into the habit, you'll love it. Vista has all kinds of features for all users. There's one for everyone. See Microsoft's site for details on the versions.

Also, if you're not gaming, try a Mac. See Apple's site to find more on Macintoshes. There sleek, fast, and beautiful. But many softwares and games are incompatible.

Good luck.
There seems to be a lot of kurfuffle about which one is best. It all really depends on what you want to use it for. If you wanted it, for, say, to play as an extreme gamer, Vista for the win, or Windows 2000 very (VERY) reliable, and decent if you dont want a memory hogging monolith. But brace yourself for 拢50+ (I.E. Expensive when you consider it, would you like to buy a computer only to be told you need to bung another 拢50? I think NOT!

But if it dosent bother you too much about gaming, and ooh la la fancy icons, and the average-day-at-work is typing a text document, or emailing friends, opt for Ubuntu, a free Linux deritive which can be found at www.ubuntu.comComputer ???????????????????
The one you like the most.

As we all have Different taste, what is good for me might not be for you.

Try as many Different ones as you can and whatever you like the best is the best operating system.
it depends:

if you have money- mac

if you want user friendly and u have money- windows

if you don't have much money and would like a reliable one- linux (i like ubuntu ;) )
Unix
XP
FreeBSD or Linux depending on what your gonna use it for.
