What are the downsides of continuous computer formatting?

I've asked my older sister countless times to format my computer because I'm experiencing lag in the game I play. Btw, this computer has been formatted 4-5 times. But whenever I ask my sister to format my computer, she says no because she says that if you format a computer too much, the computer itself gets slower than it already was. Is this true? Or is that an excuse to get out of formatting my computer because it takes away her 2-3 hours?What are the downsides of continuous computer formatting?
Depends if you're formatting a drive 10 times a month then theoretically it's bad for the drive but just in the sense of physical wear and tear no different than having a drive running 100% of the time for a year straight. But in the way she means no not likely and if you're having to format the computer to play a game perhaps it's time for either a bigger drive or an upgrade to ram, cpu, gpu, etc.



Also instead of pestering your sister why don't you learn how to format your drive then with your sister present trying it yourself with her help that way you don't need to keep bothering her?

NO, not at all! Ur sister is just trying to run shy away from this task...

BUT, i will advise u to look for remedies which are more straight forward and take less time.

First of all u must check to ensure that ur system fulfills all the minimum requirements of the game which u r playing ( it will always be better to have the specs a little more than the minimum recommended ones). Ur RAM should be at least 4 GB, the graphics card should be a good one and with updated drivers as well.What are the downsides of continuous computer formatting?
No it does not slow it down, it will get slower over time because of a buildup of dust and any debris in the fans. I would suggest learning how to reformat the computer yourself so that you can get the job done whenever you want.
