How long can my computer keep running with an outdated browser?

How long can my computer keep running with an outdated browser?

I browser my computer is outdated. However my computer's little outdated too, and doesn't have what it would need to run the new browser. Should I start saving up for a new one, or can this problem be dealt with for a few more years yet?

By the way, I love my computer I don't want to start over because I love all the programs on my computer. How long can my computer keep running with an outdated browser?
All you're missing out on are some snazzy extras your browser provides. Until something comes along to make Flash obsolete (or something to that effect) feel free to just not download any upgrades when your browser announces one.

Part 2: You don't necessarily have to go to Best Buy to upgrade. I have 5 computers in my apartment and didn't pay a dime for any of them---many people "Frankenstein" computers. Basically just using working parts from several junked computers and turning it into a well-oiled machine. BTW the newest computer I have is from 2005. The 1999 one runs Firefox without a hitch. Long story short, you're in the clear.

Part 3: If you have your heart set on that data but don't want to mess with opening up computers, replacing HD's, etc, download Dropbox. It's basically Photobucket, but instead of photos it saves all your sh*t, and I mean from ANYTHING. It syncs to phones well and seems almost designed for iPods. Either way, it's a good place to stash this stuff with minimum hassle. Check it out:

well i know for a fact that you can use an old MacBook G4 for about 3 or 4 years after becoming outdated, but without the flash updates and browser updates you will begin experiencing display errors up to not being able to access a page at all or watch a video. My reccomendation would be to start saving for a new computer, and put the hard drive of the computer you have now into the new one, that way all your data remains and you don't have to do anything but update the stuff.
