My computer is slow as hell and freezes on me. Most of the time, I have to restart my computer. I think I may have a virus on my computer. What is the best software to remove the viruses of my computer? What is the best computer virus remover?
To clean up your pc, give this a try.

Update your anti-virus, remember to only have one anti-virus installed on your PC

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-… [Free home edition]

Download SuperAntiSpyware

http://www.superantispyware.com/superant… [Free home edition]

Restart your PC in safe mode with networking, and run a full scan with both.

While in safe mode, you may also want to have a look at your start up items by using msconfig.

Be careful with the items you uncheck, you can have a look here to see if they are necessary

You should also have a look at your IE Add-ons while in safe mode.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using…

Disable any you do not use.

After you reboot back to normal mode, download and install ccleaner to fix any registry problems and clean up old temp files.

Then run a disk clean up

What is the best computer virus remover?
to remove viruses from your computer you will need a FULL VIRUS SCAN and that requires a CD, or a full version of the program to COMPLETELY remove the virus from your computer. those CD's are pricey so i would sugest you RESTORE your computer jus like you first got it. all your data will be lost but it is way better than having viruses hiding in your computer and killing it slowly but if you want to resotre it as new as u first got it...

when the you turn on the computer QUICKLY hit

Ctrl + F11 and just follow all directions to restore it and wait for your computer to restart then its gonna be as good as neww.

HOPE I HELPED.
Maybe, it's your registry?

If you are reading this article then it's fair to say you already know that most of your computer problems or errors are originated from the registry of your system. It is unlikely. Before cleaning up your system you have to know that there are two major causes of the errors which will affect your PC's performance.

You will often find unused files/data saturating your registry if you don't go through the process of uninstalling software when deleting it making your registry unclean. If this is something you perform regularly then you will notice how it affects your computer. One of the possible causes of Registry Crash is an incompatible hardware driver and this could be a far more serious problem. If an error message occurs during the installation of software but you force it to continue installing then this could be the cause of the problem. Then the blue screen of death might appear which is a more serious problem.

Your computer will still slow down gradually even if you always carry out the process of keeping your registry clean and safe and you should be aware of this. Not carrying out routine maintenance for months while using your PC/laptop makes this increasingly likely to take place. Maintenance programs provided by Windows such as disk defragmenter and disk clean up can certainly help you keeping your computer registry organized. By performing maintenance regularly, your computer should perform better although just because it is organized that does not necessarily mean clean. With windows tools, all of those unused files are kept together in a particular space of your disk if you carry out this routine maintenance regularly. If maintenance is never performed on the system then these files are spread all over it.

You may have noticed there are many registry cleaning software packages available on the market, which are created to help you clean this essential part of your computer system. To make sure your computer never runs slow and to ensure you do not become frustrated with the constant errors again, you may perform the scanning every day. Within some versions of registry software programs, many features are provided. Features are given in order to make it more convenient for its users such as a built-in scheduler, junk file cleaner and more. You might end up buying registry software that is not the best quality and this can cause even more errors if you make a buying decision too early.

I would have to strongly recommend that you get avast anti virus because one of the best and it worked for me, but before you download avast you must delete your current anti virus if u have a current anti virus then its okay . It is never good to have to anti virus programs on your computer because if there is a virus in your computer and they locate it they will keep on fighting to see who gets to exterminate it, until it slips away or a nother virus gets through and you computer crashes.Avast is simple and virtually pays for itself and if you don't want to pay for it Find a registration code somewhere and use that but i recommend avast.
Why is my computer slow? I bet you have asked yourself that very question time and time again. And for the most part, you probably just can not figure it out. Ask the guy next to you, and they probably don’t have the foggiest idea either. I mean, you may get the “spyware, virus” answer, but this most likely is not the case.

The first place I check when my computer starts to run slower is the registry. Yes, the registry. Most people don’t even know what, or where the registry is, and especially don’t understand how this can slow a computer down. Let me explain.

Basically, the registry files contain information and settings for all of the software, hardware, operating system software, and anything else running on your computer. Mess any of these files up, and the computer does not know how to function. The computer goes to start up the software, looks for the registry files, and either can not find it or finds something that does not look like it is suppose to look like. It then just sits there: it does not know what to do next. This is where the “hanging” or “locking up” of your computer comes from. These files will need to be fixed.

To fix the registry files, find a good quality registry repair software called registry cleaner and run it on your computer.Top 5 registry cleaners can be found in here:

http://www.make-pc-fast.com/ .It will tell you how many files are corrupted and need to be fixed. Just tell the software to fix it and it restores all of the registry files to their correct configuration. It is really that simple. It may take only about 5 minutes to perform this check. And then as a maintenance item for your computer, I would recommend performing this registry fix at least once a week. This will always ensure your registry files are good, and keep your computer running with no slow, freezing and errors. So if you find yourself asking why is my computer slow, I would check the registry files first.

Now you can check out

http://www.make-pc-fast.com/ ,there are reviews of top rated registry cleaners and a clear guide to tell you how to speed up your computer. And from there you also can get a free scan to fix any problems such as computers slow, computer freezing, computer errors and getting the blue death screen.

Hope that can help you.

i am a computer programmer the collage i work for and i use is nod 32 for anti virus and u can download ccleaner for cleaning cookies etc. ever time u get off the net run it u can customise what u want it to clean u can go to www.ccleaner.com hit download and look for filehippo and download it. its great it keeps it clean and fast.
As was suggested, AVG or Antivir, are very good and also free. Also check out this article: http://www.squidoo.com/slow-computer-spe…

However, I'm afraid what you really should do is reinstall windows and all of the software you have.
If your operating system was installed 6 yrs ago, then itd doesn't matter if there are any viruses. Just reinstall OS.

An easy way to check for viruses though is a web scanner:

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
I would recommend Avira Antivir Personal. It is very fast and has a 99.6% accuracy rate, It doesn't slow down your computer, Best of all, It's Free.
6 years! The average computer's life is about 4 years. It could just be that it's ancient.

To answer your question, Kaspersky is supposed to be the best. I think there is a free trial.
i use Bitdefender...i would prefer that one...well any antivirus is able to clean up some viruses...but if it's slow and stuff it's usually better and safer just to reinstall your operating system
The best virus scanner is Norton 360 which is expansive. the reason it's the best because it is all in one.
Norton is not bad,I use Bitdefender myself.
the best viruses are the ones firends give you =)
AVG or Antivir both are great

they can be found from www.filehippo.com

and look in the anti-virus section. hope this helps your promblem
AVG or Spyware Doctor Email me if you want them for free
