What are good computer specs to build a computer for a graphic design purpose?

I am getting into the graphic design industry and am looking at building my own computer for it. What are some good mother boards? I know the 64 bit systems are good. Possibly AMD or Intel. This computer is going to be used with Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Which at times I could be having them all open at the same time. I would prefer that they do not make the machine drag to much. What would be a good motherboard, graphics card, processor, hard drive(preferably Seagate).What are good computer specs to build a computer for a graphic design purpose?
Many people have different preferences on motherboard manufacturers. Going with a 64 bit operating system will allow you to use more ram. You will want 6-8GB of ram. Which processor you use will depend more on budget, brand being a personal preference. Obviously, the faster, the better, and the more expensive (typically.) You would have to match the motherboard to the processor. As for hard drives, SAS drives are faster and more reliable, and more expensive. If you want to use SAS drives, then you might want a motherboard that supports them. Hard drive manufacturers are more of a personal preference, but you will want a performance one (versus a "green" energy efficient one.)You will want to run RAID to get the best performance. RAID 0 is fast, RAID 10 (aka 0+1) is fast and redundant (data protection.) You will want a motherboard that supports that. As for the graphics card, that will depend on budget, and may change what motherboard you want. You might go with SLI or Crossfire. You can go with a single card with dual processors, or 2 or 3 cards.

you can refer these specs with your dealer or someone you know, before purchasing and you can spend or save accordingly.here's what i say:



intel comes with good processors, and be very careful in selecting the motherboard.see whether you can get the same board for the same processor, as motherboards are mostly processor specific.this means if you choose an entirely different motherboard you need another processor.so think in detail on that one.



a 3 to 4 gb ram module will do fine.a 2 x 2gb will be fine when compared to a 1 x 4gb module, in case it is down.



a range of 320gb, 500gb, 750gb or 1tb hard drives are available. if you need seagate, the barracuda series are available.



a standard or a bit of high end can be chosen for keyboard-mouse combos and speakers. a good quality headphone can replace the speakers as well, if you have any sound projects, or interests in music.



the graphic card mart provides a very wide selection.choose a g-force or ati radeon series from a reputed brand only. bad ones can cause power loss,fast heat ups and system driver problems.a 512mb or 768 mb will provide good performance.



provide a cooling system to the cpu box if you can.



finally, choose a monitor which seems okay with you.this one also, choose the best brand available.



make sure you get the best available optical drive and front and rear usb ports as well.
