What college would i go to if I wanted to make my own game?

I wanted to make a computer game, like diablo, wow, runescape. Ive been lookin for game design colleges in utah and ive seen curses for graphic design and such but I want a class that shows you how to make your own game, how to start scripting, coding, mapping, creating a base to your first game. Anyone know what the exact name for this course would be? Thanks.What college would i go to if I wanted to make my own game?
That's not a course, that's about at least 3 different courses, and if you wanted it to be 3D, you're looking at minimum 10 courses. (I'm not kdding).



Your best start would be a programming class, and choosing a language to program in. Next, you would have to choose a platform. (PC, mobile, web, Flash) and focus on learning the commands for the programming language it uses. If you want it to have graphics, you'll need some sort of art class, or at the least, a class that teaches you Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator. If you wanted it in 3D, you'd need to take classes in 3D modeling and 3D animation. If you wanted spell effects, you'd take a digital effects and compositing course. Then of course you'd need to learn how to incorporate all those things into the game and have it recognize commands (more programming classes).



The amount of work that goes into creating a game is enormous, and you simply can't learn it all in one class. Well, I live in England and I know a college called 'Northumbria College' and it's all about computer designing, but since you live in America (I'm presuming since you looked up colleges in Utah) I can't help you. You will probably find graphic design colleges but then get into specific specialty classes or programs and learn the gaming part. It is all under the graphic design umbrella. Figure out a school near you: http://collegesforgraphicdesign.com/ that offers graphic design classes and ask them about their specialty areas. Its a fun field! There is a lot for you to learn :)

You would need to start with some type of programming course. This can be a course like Computer Science or Computer Programming. I took AP Computer Science my sophomore year in high school last year and we made a small game. Nothing impressive like WoW or RuneScape, but you have to start somewhere. I don't know much about game making, but knowing how to program would be useful.
