well friend, even though your question is just for fun, I'll give you a good response =P
actually being money not a problem, one can build the most expensive computer you could imagine BUT in a GAMING PC there is a LIMIT of which you can buy. That limit my friend is when the PC build could practically max out all games on a resolution greater than 1080p with great FPS.
Hardware parts could be:
2600k - not only for gaming but heavy computing and rendering
8 gb RAM - enough for everything else
$200 above Z68 mobo
HD 7970 - can max out all games easily (or you could have 2 of them x-fired, but will just be a waste today since one HD7970 would be enough)
$1000w PSU - for future x-fire setup and other upgrades
liquid cooler
bluray
Thermaltake level 10 snow edition
(2) 1 TB seagate HDD
(1) 240 gb SSD
24" 1080p monitor (maybe 1 or 2)
gaming keyboard and mouse
