Can someone please forward me steps on how to make a granny square? The steps on the computer are to hard for m?

Perhaps the computer is making it harder than what it has to be?

Maybe some one has a real simple pattern? I would greatly appreciate it.

You're right. You will find very often, in crochet, that writing and reading instructions is a lot harder than actually doing the pattern. It's the nature of the beast.

Maybe I can give a few clues that combined with a tutorial might help.

All granny squares start with a ring. chain 4 and then make a slip stitch into the first chain (or the 4th from the hook).

chain 3. This will take the place of one of the posts of the first row.

Make 2 double crochet into the ring. Normally in crochet you insert the hook between the loops. Here, insert the hook directly into the circle. The dc will slide on the ring. This makes the first cluster of three posts which form the first side.

chain 2, this is the first corner.

and then make 3 more double crochet for the second side.

repeat the last two steps (ch 2, 3 dc) until you have four sides, or a square.

make a slip stitch into the the chain of the original ch 3 that you made in the beginning of the round.

That's the basics. Each row is much of the same, but you will add more clusters to lengthen the row.

I like Beth in TX's YouTube videos. She's quite prolific with her "how to crochet" videos and she has a series on granny squares. She demonstrates correct techinques and she starts sloooooowly.

I don't have that to send you, but I would reccomend going on youtube if you're having a hard time figuring things out. There have been stitches, etc. that I've had a hard time following what they were, so I searched it on youtube and being able to see someone else doing it was a huge help, so I'd reccomend trying that!
