What ASUS computer should I get?

I am looking to buy a new laptop and I got recommend to buy an ASUS. What I want to do is either have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS or 11.10 on it. I am going to be using it as a LAMP server for developing PHP sites before I put them online. I am going to use GIMP as my graphic design program. I was looking for at least 3gb of Memory and 320gb of HDD. I want it to be able to upgrade it to newer versions of Ubuntu, once they come out. Can someone send me a link with some recommendations.What ASUS computer should I get?

GIMP will run on just about any old thing, and so will Ubuntu.

I have a computer that was Windows 7 and died recently. I was soooo angry I just installed Ubuntu instead. It works fine.

Choose Ubuntu 10.04 LTS because 11.10 is truly horrible. Also with Ubuntu don't do upgrades - a clean install is always better.

You can also install Ubuntu side by side with Windows - so you can have two operating systems to choose from. It's called a Windows Dual Boot, more info here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Window鈥?/a>

asus is a greta Brand,many come with a free one year warranty included,as for upgrade,usually ubuntu has much lower requirements then windows. as for which laptops run ubuntu, any laptop will run ubuntu. however i would look into lenovo, you can a great laptop much cheaper from lenovo then asus. lenovo is at the top of quality in the laptop arena. contact me if you need more help.
